Kiddie parties should be lively and full of fun and exciting activities. Kids nowadays are so glued to simply playing computer games. What a pity that these children lose out other creative activities. Well, worry no more! Host a non-traditional party that will let their creativity run wild while having a blast. Try these easy to make kiddie arts and crafts with your young ones and have fun yourself.

1) Hand decorated party cupcakes

Simply prepare regular or chocolate cupcakes. Prepare a selection of colorful icings and let the children decorate the cupcakes themselves. To make the cupcakes one of a kind, add more toppings like sugar flowers, gum drops, chocolate chips or fresh fruits. What’s best is that they get to eat or bring home their cupcakes. Be sure to make a small working station where they can get their hands dirty.

2) Eco-friendly gardening

Encourage kids to participate in a gardening activity. Prepare small pots, soil, seedlings/ plants, paint and paint brushes. Pick gardening tools which are best for little hands like hand shovels, garden gloves and watering cans. Make available a workstation where the kids can paint the pots with their own designs. Show the kids how to plant the seedlings and how to care for them. These are great party favors that kids will remember for months.

3) Cool and trendy flip-flops

This next activity is to hone the fashion expert in the child. Just supply the children with inexpensive flip-flops of different colors, shapes and sizes. From an art supply store, you can buy some ribbons, glue gun and a variety of trimmings. Trimmings can range from floral accents, gemstones, beads and feathers. You can pick multiple embellishments or stick to certain ones that are in-line with your party theme (Example: for a summer theme, choose floral accents and shells). In a workstation, allow the children to pick their flip-flops and decorations. Always watch them when they are using glue guns but let them choose the decorations they want for their flip-flops. This is a great party favor they can actually wear.

4) Handmade kiddie accessories

Young girls love to wear accessories. From a toy store, simply purchase a beading set for children that will allow them to make customized necklaces, bracelets, anklets and even key chains. One great tip is to find "letter beads" which they can use to spell-out different names. This is a fun activity that kids will enjoy.
